I, myself have never been to Bengal but do not know why I am fascinated with Bengal and the so called Bongs has always gathered my attention. May be because I am fascinated with art and Kolkata is full of artists: musicians, poets, storytellers, singers, actors, directors, etc. I think they recognise art better than any other person.

Bengalis love Rosogullas and like to have them on Saturday.
Kolkata has some of the beautiful women and they like fish a lot. It’s been said about Bongs that if given to choose between a woman and fish, they wouldn’t think a second to opt fish. They have hard time at places which do not offer fish. Bongs are very energetic and have hugely contributed to Indian art, Indian film industry, advertising industry, etc. But I have learned that Bongs are placid back at home; they are pretty soft towards working hard. There are some famous personalities from Kolkata like Jagmohan Dalmiya and famous companies like Emami who are known nationwide for their work.
Kolkata is crazy about cricket and football. They are excited about such small things and they live life with passion. I admire Konkona Sen Sharma’s skills, the movie that she directed; A Death in the Gunj is just amazingly crafted. Kolkata is crazy over alcohol and the fact that Durga Puja is incomplete without having alcohol and fish proves it. Kolkata is known for its grand colonial structure which is truly appreciated by the Bongs. It is commercial and educational hub of eastern India.
Kolkata was the capital of India before Delhi and has a huge English influence in its architecture. Calcutta was its official name before 2001. Calcutti paan is well known throughout the world. Personally speaking, I heard first about Calcutta with paan. Kolkata being a metro city in India is connected well with the rest of the country. Kolkata is a part of proposed golden quadrilateral road in India. Rail network is also very well connected with Kolkata. Recently, the movie—Lion, showed Kolkata railway station.
Kolkata is connected well with flights too. Kolkata has Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. It has a number of flights to various national and international destination. For example an approximate number of daily Bangalore to Kolkata flight is 135. Indigo, jet Airways and Air India are the major carriers serving a Bangalore to Kolkata flight.
Bengalis love talking about Kolkata over tea wherever they may be. They are mostly working in the IT sector in Bengaluru. Bangalore may house around three to five lakhs of Bengalis. That’s the reason for a huge number of Bangalore to Kolkata flight. May Bengalis never leave being Bengali.
